Total enrollment in 32 Kendriya Vidyalayas under Varanasi Region is 37626 as on 31st July 2016. We believe in imparting quality education by adopting latest tools and techniques in the field of classroom teaching and learning environment. Our most valued stakeholder is the "child" who gets the highest priority in all our decision making. The Regional Office not only supervises but also guides the vidyalayas placed under its administrative control and it ensures that the policies and programmes envisaged at the KVS Hqrs level are implemented in KVs in letter and spirit.Out of 32 vidyalayas 12 are running in temporary accommodation. The land has been identified for most of the KVs and in one KV construction work is in progress. We accord top priority to provide all requisite infrastructure and facilities to our children for getting the best available at academic platform. We also organise various activities through Games and Sports, Social Science and Science Exhibitions, Youth Parliament Competition, Children Science Congress, Bharat Scout & Guide activities, NCC and many more to ensure all round development of the child placed under our academic care. The vidyalayas are inspected by the Regional Office drawing best academicians in the field to provide academic guidance to schools. We ensure follow up action on all the identified areas of the vidyalaya to ensure that the vidyalaya functions to its fullest potential. The performance of teachers is monitored very closely at every level. Through In-service training programmes and workshops we also provide the teachers opportunity to update their professional skills and help them understand the latest trends in the field of classroom teaching learning practices.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan consists of 25 Regions and KVS Varanasi Region has 32 KVs. It covers Kendriya Vidyalayas of UP. KVS Varanasi Region came into existence in the year 2012. Earlier, KVs of this region were either with Patna Region or Lucknow Region. Currently, it is running in KV BHU Campus Varanasi. The Primary Section building is being utilized for this purpose.
The Regional Office is headed by Shri D T Sudharsan Rao, Deputy Commissioner assisted by three Asstt. Commissioners viz. Miss Menaxi Jain and Mr. D S Ram. Mr. G. Banerjee , AO and Sh. Govind Kumar, Finance Officer are also a part of this dynamic team.
